My formal introduction to photography came about in the mid-60s; when the United States Marine Corps thought I was best suited (at least, for their purposes) to be a photographer. Then, while attending Pan American University (now known as the University of Texas-Pan American), I enrolled in a several "advanced” photography classes and I also secured a part-time job as one of the university’s “work-study” (student) photographers.

Since graduating from college in 1972, my additional photographic skills have been acquired through trial and error, and by reading countless magazines and books; supplemented by enrollment in numerous workshops and seminars. The two most significant influences, to date, have been my participation in the photography programs of the:

  • Southwest Craft Center (now known as the Southwest School of Art and Craft), where my “pictures” began to resemble “images”; and
  • Center for Visual Technology at the Meramec Campus of St. Louis Community College, where I made the transition to the digital era.

Photography is visual story telling, isn’t it? There is no requirement to validate any strongly held beliefs. It only requires a commitment to continue to explore and, then, appreciate what is found. This personal web site further cements my commitment to photography.

Please take a few minutes to sign my Guestbook and leave your comments. If you’re interested in working together or in purchasing one of my displayed photographic images, email me and I’ll get back to you as quickly as possible.

Thanks!
